Borgata Report
I'm down here at the Borgata. I got in last night and played a little 200-400 HOSE. Today I played two supers and didn't do anything notable. Here is my favorite hand from today:
- 400-800-100 blinds, everyone folds to the button who jams for 4500, SB folds, BB has about 9000 total after posting the blind and calls the 3700 instantly. His hand? Q6o. He is against the 97o and wins the race. Are you supposed to call with Q6o there if you know your opponent will jam with any two?
I also had a favorite comment of the day. Sometimes people say the darnedest things in the context of super satellites. I busted a guy after cold-calling a raise from another player and then calling this guy's reraise jam after the initial raiser folded. I had QTs and beat 77. This guy was incredulous that I could call with my hand, though I was getting better than 2-1. After I won the hand, he said, "How could you call with that hand?! How do you expect to win the tournament playing like that?" I didn't know how to gently tell him that winning the tournament is not the goal of a super satellite, so I decided to say nothing.
Tomorrow is the main event so I'm going to get some sleep.

Tell him you saw his sevens through his reflective sunglasses and you knew you were a coinflip. This is humourous regardless of whether he is actually wearing reflective sunglasses.
retired ehhh!
I was going to post an explanation for the Q6o situation but then you answered it yourself with the QTs situation :)
