Pokernews Article

I recently worked on an article for pokernews.com which you can read here.

Since my last post I've been playing more razz and picking what I think are good spots in the triple draw games. I took some shots at big razz games this week and lost. Obv. I have to work my way back into triple draw slowly after getting absolutely obliterated for so long the last time I played. Here's an interesting hand from one of those sessions last week:

- Three-handed, I open on the button with 23xxx, both blinds call. SB draws 2, BB draws 3, I draw 3. I catch 86x, SB bets, BB raises, I three-bet, SB caps, we call. Both blinds stay pat, I draw one. I catch a 5 for 86532 (#7). SB checks, BB bets, I call, now SB raises, BB calls. This is a tough spot for me, I think. I decide to fold. They both stay pat and it goes check-check on the end. SB has 87432 and BB wins with 86543. I think the SB played his hand quite strangely. There's no way he's going to get the BB to break a better hand than 87432 but he may get him to break a worse hand! There are a lot of times when I am in third place the way the action went and few times that I have the best hand, I think.

I don't play this game much but isn't the pot laying you enough there where you should be willing to take your chances vs. the check raiser? If the BB had re-raised, clear fold but vs. just a call I think you have to call and be willing to go down with the ship.

hmm, i dunno, getting 14:1 there and 8:1 to see a showdown even if its bet i think i never fold there in a 3-handed game with a hand that can beat some 86x's to guys who drew 2 and 3 cards then stood.

at least i think that is correct in my $5-10 game from what i've seen so far
