Main Event Tomorrow
I haven't played any live poker since my last post and it's been nice. I've been relaxing, playing golf, shopping a little, and playing a few losing hours online.
The golf was a match pitting Stoxtrader and myself against two of Stox's friends. His friends are both scratch golfers and we're much worse so we came up with the following format, which I found quite interesting:
- We play a scramble. For those of you who don't know what a scramble is, it means we both hit tee shots, we pick the best one, and we both hit balls from that spot. Then we repeat that process for each shot. Our opponents played the holes normally but their team took the worst individual score on each hole.
It ended up being a very even match and I sunk a 12-footer on 18 in the waning light to win it for us.
I'm getting a massage tomorrow afternoon to help me prepare for the tournament and then hoping to find some friends for dinner. A lot of people I know seem to be playing tomorrow. I hope I don't get seated with any of them.
Wow this has almost been a poker free post. I never write about anything but poker on here. Your poker content will be a list of some friends I'm rooting for who have survived from days 1A and 1B:
Matt Maroon 80k (Cardplayer has it wrong)
Jesse Martin 51k
Pat Poels 50k
Luke Neely 49k
Joe Tehan 49k
Ernie Scherer 43k
Shane Schleger 42k
Nick Schulman 10k
This is by no means a complete list so don't feel bad if I left you out. It's 5 am and I skimmed.
