WSOP Day 4
It's amazing how much traffic one mention from Pauly "Triple Draw" McGuire will get your site. In the proverbial town of the poker community, Pauly is the biggest pimp. And I mean that in a good way.
Let's see, what's happened since I last updated. I played a lot of Chinese Poker and lost. LA player Frank Hong said to me earlier this month, "If I could unlearn anything about poker that I've learned, it would be squeezing cards and Chinese Poker." I'm starting to feel the same way. There are times when I really enjoy playing the game but there are also times when I play for 16 hours and then think, "I wonder what time it is," and it's 16 hours later. Did I really come to the World Series to play superlong Chinese sessions, sleep all day, then wake up and have people tell me, "Dude, you don't look so good." No. No I did not.
An hour or so after midnight yesterday I finished up a Chinese session (the people I was playing with quit, obv) and headed over to Bellagio to see if a game I had heard about was still going. When I got there it was full and had a short wait list. The game looked good so I sat in a 100-200 mixed game with my buddy Ian J. until my seat came up. After an hour or so I got in the game. They were playing 800-1600 BOT. I was even for a while and then started losing. After a few hours some of the bad players quit and I was stuck a few bets. I decided to keep playing for no good reason. This is something I have to stop doing. If the lineup two or three hours into the game had been the lineup when I showed up, I probably wouldn't have played at all. Instead, I kept playing and had a very bad loss. I wasn't playing my best towards the end of the session, for sure, but I also took some nasty beats. Nothing exciting or noteworthy. Just the way one loses at poker.
Badugi is really fucking me in these mixed games. I'm not sure what it is. Some people call it "running bad." I don't know. It may be that there's something going on in this game that I don't understand. The best way I can describe it is "Everyone seems to make more badugis than I do and when I do make them, I make tens and my opponents make sevens in the same hand." Also, "When I call people who I think might be bluffing, they never are, but every time I bluff I get called."
So I'm not sure what I'm going to do the next couple of days. I'm going to watch some soccer today and maybe play golf. I really feel like playing golf but no one else seems to want to because it's too hot. Leave it to Harrah's to move the WSOP from May to July. Why July? There's nothing going on in Vegas in July. Why is that? Because it's a hundred degrees every day. Anyway if you're out here and feel like playing golf, give me a call. Oh also if you feel like giving me some cash for online money, let me know. I'm a little short now. Not so good to be short of cash on day 5 of the Series. Sigh.

Thanks "Fragis!"
Do you have $$$ on Full Tilt?
Yes, I have money on Full Tilt...can you help me?
Chris, I'm sure it will turn around. I have the same problem at times with what I call "departure skills." See you around the Series (I'm dealing).
Best wishes,
Claudia
