Vegas Update
I'm up in my room taking a short break from a 200-400 triple draw game. Here are some highlights of my first 36 or so hours in Vegas:
- Played a bunch of the 40-80 mixed game (triple draw, o8, stud hi-lo with no qualifier). Game is very good. People think jacks and tens are good cards to start with in hi-lo regular. They're not.
- Played 200-400 mixed last night (triple draw, o8, stud8). Got stuck 10k very quickly, then rallied and got winner for a while. Quit about even. Two fun hands from my getting stuck:
a) O8. Two limpers, button raises, I call with AKJ2 from the BB. Flop KQ2 with two hearts, I check-raise the button, one of the limpers (a famous tv player) calls two cold, button calls. Turn 5h, I bet, they both call. River 9, all check. Button rolls over Q2, I show K2, tv player shows AJ55 with no hearts and scoops. Yikes. Nh sir.
b) Triple draw. I haven't won a hand since I sat down. On the last draw three of us draw one card. The player first to act checks in the dark, I catch an ace and bluff at the pot, the player on the button calls quickly, the other guy mucks, I show my hand, button shows K8xxx! Nice call with the guy who checked dark yet to act behind you sir.
- Played late last night, woke up in the afternoon, played 40 for a while, then got in this triple draw game. What a rollercoaster triple draw is. I just went from up 7k to stuck in less than an hour and then from stuck to up 8k in about 20 minutes. I think I'll head back down and order some dinner.
