Watcha Gonna Do When They Come For You
At least two major NY poker clubs were raided last night. I say "at least" because if they raided two, they probably picked last night to crack down on a bunch of them. Though I've spent a good amount of time in those clubs, I've never been present for a raid.
In happier news, congrats go out to Gavin Smith for his win at the Mirage WPT event last night. It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
As for me, I'm itching to get on that plane to Vegas. Maybe I'll change my flight and go earlier. I can't wait to get out there! I'm planning to play the following events:
6/3 1500 NLH
6/4 1500 PLH
6/5 1500 LH
6/6 1500 O8?
6/8 1000 + rebuys NLH
6/10 2000 NLH?
6/22 1500 NLH
6/24 2500 NLH
6/25 2500 PLH?
7/7 10K Main Event
A couple of those are on days I'm supposed to be flying home and I may or may not play the O8 event, but it looks like I'll have 8-10 shots at a bracelet and will pay around $15K in buyins, not including the main event. Yowza.

I don't know Gavin, but I do know Ted. So let's just say the best two men won :)
I hope you do come out early. You know that IP is having a juice-free event on the 31st, right?
Since I don't know what you look like you're pretty much going to have to track me down somehow.
Anyone know which two clubs? Already heard NYPC got shut down. Who else?

do they arrest players, or just the proprietors? do they take everyone's cash?
They arrest the people who work there. Players get searched and IDed but aren't breaking any laws so aren't subject to arrest. They won't take any cash from the players, but if you've got a couple of grand in club chips in play, you may never see that money again.
That's an ambitious event schedule! Best of luck... If, hypothetically, you were to play in and win them all, you'd have 1 more bracelet than Hellmuth...
I bet his head would explode, so I'll be rooting for you.
