How To...

How To Scoop a $1028 pot playing four-handed 20-40 O8:

- I raise UTG with Ac 2d 7d 9d, button calls, SB folds, BB three-bets, all call. Flop 8d 6s 3s, BB bets, I raise, button three-bets, BB caps, all call. Turn 5d, BB bets, I raise, button three-bets, BB caps, all call. River 8c, BB checks, I bet, button calls, BB calls. I scoop. The hands? BB had AAK4 with both flush draws. Button had J632 with no flush draw. Even though the big blind has a monster hand, I have 54% equity on the flop and 74% on the turn. Omaha CAN be fun.

Triple draw is a stupid game and I don't know why I play it.

I guess we play TD because it's fun and we need a break from limit hold 'em. I would be much better off monetarily if I stuck to HE, but it's just too boring. Every so often I have to mix things up.

Also, if we ever get to play in big mix games (my personal poker goal), our TD experience so far should make us competitive. As I'm sure you know, there are many clueless people at all levels. There were players in the $400/$800 "Live at the Bike" game last week who were drawing two after the second draw.
