Superbowl Sunday

Some good comments on my last post. I have more to say about the hand, but I want to give everyone a chance to weigh in first.

Here's a question that's been on my mind lately. Maybe you all can give me some feedback, specifically the math kids out there (Matt?) I often come in behind the button when I play live games online. Assuming a ten-handed game, what seats are profitable to post behind the button in? Obviously posting one behind the button would be ideal, but a lot of the time you have to choose between posting say, three seats behind the button and then getting five free hands versus missing six hands and then posting the blinds. I guess the obvious answer is to wait, but how valuable are those five free hands for a winning player? Do they make up the one big blind difference? You also have to factor in the good possibility of winning the hand you post in, so you don't even need to make up the full big blind value in the five free hands. I would guess something like 2/3 of it, but that's just off the top of my head.

Tomorrow is Super Bowl Sunday. I wonder what effect, if any, this will have on the big Sunday online tournies. I suspect at least some people will take a week off to go to parties and the fields will be smaller. I'm on the fence right now. I love hanging out with my friends and making ridiculous prop bets on anything and everything (commercials included), but Sunday is my big work day. I guess I'll probably end up in Queens at the party, but I can't say for sure.

Played another Stars $11+R tonight and busted after getting fairly deep with decent chips with AA vs KK preflop. Blinds 300/600/100, UTG limps, I make it 1800 with AA, he goes all-in for FIFTEEN THOUSAND with KK and gets rewarded by flopping a king. This limp-reraising has got to stop, people. Here's another example of limp-reraising gone mad from a 15/30 game this week:

- I raise two limpers with AsJs on the button. Both blinds and the first limper call, the second limper re-raises, I cap, and everyone calls. Flop AcJh3h. Checked to the limp-reraiser who bets, I call, one other call. Turn Jc. Limp reraiser bets, I raise, other guy folds, LRRer calls. River 5h, he check-calls and has ATo.

Now we're limp re-raising with ATo. Heyyyyy donkey donkey, I know, let's put in the max preflop out of position with two big, unsuited cards in a multiway pot when I'm likely to be facing either a bigger ace or a pair TT or above. Stop the madness. I would rather limp re-raise with 53s than ATo.

Two more fun hands:

- With QQ, I three-bet a real donkey who raised UTG. The button calls cold, the donkey caps, and we call. Flop Tc4c3d. Donkey bets, I raise, button calls, donkey three-bets, I cap, button calls. Turn 6h, donkey checks, I bet, they both call. River 9h, donkey checks, I bet, they both call. The hands? Donkey: Ah4h, Button: 3h2d! How about this guy calling $45 cold preflop and then putting in $120 more with bottom pair worst kicker against two opponents. Go donkey go.

- Seven-handed, I raise on the button with KsTs and only the BB calls. Flop AcKc7s, he checks, I bet, he calls. Turn Qs, he bets, I raise, he calls. River 3d, check-check. He has Tc2h. Did I miss a bet on the river here?
